Breathing Life
It's probably because I'm surrounded by Americans all the time, but when I first think fireworks, I think of Independence Day and our National Anthem. However, fireworks aren't really American. In fact, not only has China, who invented the firework, been conducting firework performances since the Tang Dynasty, but fireworks are global tools to celebrate.
The light from the sun helps us move about our busy lives and may make us feel warm at times, yet there is something intriguing about a fire a few feet in front of you. It feels inviting on a cold winter day, but also threatens with a power that seems almost human.
