"the wonders of Asia" Celebration
May is National Asian-American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month. To celebrate the rich diversity of various Asian cultures and communities at the University of Texas at Dallas, the Multicultural Center, in collaboration with 8 other student organizations put on an annual Asian Heritage Celebration. The 2018 year's theme was “The Wonders of Asia” and featured Asian landmarks, cuisine, and performances.
I thoroughly enjoy being an event photographer and just wanted to take this chance to share a bit of insight of my chronological perspective behind the lens of an evening event. Evening photoshoots are unique in that time is visually captured as lighting diminishes.

1. Setup: It's golden hour and you can see the months of hard work and planning by student organizations and employees coming all together.
2. Performances: I'm meeting with professional performers and student performers alike. I realize that I have some pretty talented peers and classmates every single time I take another photo. Lighting is still prime and I adjust my position to get different views. However, as the performances pass by, the sun is disappearing and its harder to capture the fast movements of the dancers.
3. Fashion Show
4. Booth Activities. People are having fun, but low lighting is making it really difficult to achieve earlier quality.
